2015 March 22 Circle of All Nations Event

JOIN US! - For the 2015 Circle of All Nations Spring Equinox Event - Sunday March 22. 2015 - 1 - 6 pm - 233 Gilmour, Ottawa

William Commanda was passionately interested in ideas, learning, exploring and sharing - amongst many other things.
In 2000, the launch of the UN International Decade for a Culture of Peace, Grandfather Commanda, conceived of the idea to expand his outreach by building a meeting place at his home. He wanted a round building with a central fireplace. His friend, Gaston Lavoie, created the design and executed the work, with other Circle of All Nations friends.
In the photo, you see the Boss inspecting things. As he saved up his dollars, so the wood got bought, and then the windows, and then doors and so on. Quite literally, thousands of people from across the world walked through its doors over the course of a decade - and were transformed for ever.
At the same time, he dreamed a dream for a much bigger teaching and learning place at the ancient meeting place of his direct ancestors of the Ottawa River Watershed - at the Sacred Chaudiere Site - the dream is reaching out to others.
In the meanwhile, we continue to gather where we can to keep the fire of his passion spreading.
The focus for this year’s Spring Solstice Event is deep peace-building - within oneself - as inspired by Grandfather’s Commanda’s young autistic friend Adrian Esposito and his documentary, Inner Healing - Journey with Native Trees of Knowledge - featuring, GWC and others. It it most fitting to commence the CAN TRANSFORM 101 launch with teachings of the First Peoples of North America - in this age where we are so sadly preoccupied by mental health challenges, individually, nationally and globally.
By chance this song presented today - by Shapeshifter Sound Design - and it reminded me of GWC’s central message:
“And my father said, you’d be a great man,
If you opened your heart to listen to this beautiful land.
And she will sing to your soul. She is the remedy for it all.
And She’ll fill you with love! “
